Our Manifesto - The 4 Pillars of INSEAD

Social

Welcome week

In its 28th year, Welcome Week proved to be an important part of INSEAD's integration and a commitment to diversity and social awareness, away from elitist mentalities. As strong believers in the message of the welcome week, we commit to planning and assisting the organizing committee in all administrative and logistical tasks. We will also push for everyone's involvement and adherent to INSEAD values and code of conduct.

Life on Campus

We will provide hands-on support and experience to the National groups organizing their National Weeks
We will work on promoting and organizing student events such as National weeks, DASH, Cabaret, Open Mic etc.
We will work with SODEXO on the bar's unsubsidized food prices
We will provide better quality coffee beans, and ensure the coffee machines run all day
We will promote intersection activities and competitions by promoting communication with the respective social reps
We will assist the social reps in organizing events such as the DASH, end of period parties and cabaret
We will establish, with IT Department's support a BOR online reservation system, allowing groups to book BORs in advance
We will coordinate and manage the development and publication of the student yearbook
Based on the experience gained in partying and traveling this year, we will organize the BEST Graduation trip and party in the history of INSEAD

Student Clubs

We will ensure funding will reach the various student clubs based on their respective weights in terms of recruiting, events, speakers and career opportunities they provide.
Relations with Other MBA Schools
We will communicate and coordinate with other MBA programs through Sports and/or Academic competitions (Football/rugby tournaments, private Equity competitions, etc.)

Student Problems

   Elect new INSEAD 2.0 team
Support and strengthen the INSEAD 2.0 initiatives: Academics, career, campus, IT, housing

Career

We will establish a structured process for MBA students to interact with other resources within INSEAD: EMBA students, executive program participants and faculty
We will also provide a system for students with industry experience to more easily help their peers aspiring to the particular industry
We will create a platform for job seekers of the outgoing promotion are able to share their job search experience with the incoming promotion
We will work with career service to make sure company representatives coming for On Campus Recruitment meet certain standard
We will improve dialogue between Singapore and Fontainebleau such that students starting from Fontainebleau won’t be left out for opportunities in Asia & vice versa.

Academic

The world has changed after the recent recession. To understand the contemporary nature of business in this new uber competitive world we propose the introduction of new cases through talks with the Academic Committee.
The core curriculum plays a huge role in shaping the students academic focus. We would like to be the student’s voice to the Academic Committee highlighting concerns on course structure and consistency across professors while providing constant feedback to enhance the academic experience.
Limitations in the choice of electives make it paramount for students to make informed choices. We propose increased interaction through information sessions between both MBA classes on campus to exchange details on various electives.
Through an IT initiative we propose the availability of offline lectures, which students can access later.

Alumni

One of INSEAD key value propositions is an access to a unique alumni network. Current students do not have access to the whole spectrum of opportunities for leveraging great potential of the alumni network. Important role of the new Student Council will be in unlocking this potential and leveraging valuable alumni contact for building your career.
We will negotiate with regional alumni organizations possibility for current students to participate in alumni networking events in the countries of their interest. This invitations will give an opportunity to combine alumni networking with exciting traveling
We will invite more alumni on campus for presentations and discussion panels, networking cocktails, brownbag lunches and other social events
We will conduct industry-specific alumni gatherings in the regional industry hubs and combine them with professional treks
We will strengthen INSEAD fundraising function through significant time dedication of all SC members to alumni relationships
